KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

New Product Registration Submissions (Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices): Prepare, compile, review and submit high-quality dossiers (e.g., eCTD format) for new product registrations to national and regional regulatory authorities. Develop regulatory strategies for new products to ensure the fastest possible time to market while maintaining compliance. Coordinate with suppliers for all required documentation in line with PPB guidelines.

Maintenance and Lifecycle Management: Manage the timely preparation and submission of license renewals for existing products registrations to prevent market disruptions. Handle amendments to existing Marketing Authorizations (MAs) due to changes in manufacturing, labelling, or other factors.

Regulatory Authorities Liaison and Follow-up: Assist in follow-ups and communication with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB). Coordinate and prepare timely responses to regulatory queries, deficiency letters and requests for additional information from authorities.

Imports/Exports Regulatory Compliance: Support the application and tracking of import and export permits for all products. Ensure all product packaging, labelling and Patient Information Leaflets (PILs) comply with local regulatory standards and approved artworks.

Regulatory Intelligence and Compliance: Monitor changes in the national and international regulatory landscape (e.g., changes to registration requirements) and communicate the impact to relevant internal stakeholders.

Products Advertisement & Promotional Materials: Manage the timely preparation, submission and follow-ups of products advertisements and promotional materials approvals with the regulatory authorities.

Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance and governance with relevant policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.

• 5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, preferably within the Pharmaceutical & Medical Device industry.

• Demonstrated experience in the preparation, review and successful submission of new product registrations dossiers and managing license renewals/variations.

• Solid understanding of regulatory guidelines within East Africa.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting: Maintain records of sales, marketing and sponsorship expenses, as well as other field activities, and submit monthly reports to the Category Manager. Controls & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, governance, SOPs and compliance.

Stock Control: Ensure sufficient stocks are maintained at all supply chain levels. Coordinate with category teams for timely processing of purchase orders as per lead time.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or any other equivalent qualification - a biological science university graduate with a valid PPB license.

Payroll Administration: Process monthly payroll accurately and on schedule. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive national sales strategy aligned with business objectives to drive revenue growth and market share. Set and monitor performance targets for regional teams and assess market trends to adjust strategies accordingly.

Sales Category Management: Lead brand ownership and positioning for all pharmaceutical and other products at a national level. Oversee the creation of effective marketing campaigns, ensuring high ROI and alignment with brand objectives. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop innovative promotional activities for brand visibility.

People Management: Lead, mentor and evaluate the performance of Team Leaders, Sales Supervisors and Medical/ Sales Representatives to build a high-performing team.

Supplier and Customer Management: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers to ensure product availability and quality standards. Build and nurture customer relationships to achieve high satisfaction rates and customer loyalty, adapting approaches based on client feedback.

Debt Collection and Management: Develop and execute strategies for managing inventory and ensuring effective debt collection and credit management to minimize overdue accounts, while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Financials: Manage the Commercial Unit’s budget, targeting gross profit (GP) and overall unit profitability. Ensure accountability for financial metrics, including return on investment (ROI) for marketing activities. Prepare and oversee annual budgets, closely monitoring and adjusting to maintain financial budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or have a science-related academic qualification.
• Experience in sales and marketing, or in a similar business field.
• MBA is an advantage.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in pharmaceuticals sales, out of which 3-5 years should be in a senior leadership role.
• Be a strategist with excellent leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong people management skills with high business acumen capacity..

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales and Marketing: Present, promote and sell dermocosmetics products confidently to both existing and potential customers. Meet sales targets on time, track progress and keep clear reports. Understand customers' needs and demonstrate how the products are best suited to meet those needs.

Service Excellence: Stay updated on best practices, promotional trends, and the latest clinical data to use in conversations with healthcare professionals. Keep an eye on new developments in the health sector and adjust strategies to handle any potential impacts on the business.

Customer Service: Visit customers according to agreed schedules, tailoring your sales approach to each group. Manage existing accounts, secure orders and plan daily visits to sales outlets and trade partners. Help with payment collection and resolve complaints, including product returns, by investigating issues, finding solutions and reporting recommendations to the Management.

Reporting: Keep management informed by submitting regular reports of daily call logs, weekly plans and monthly summaries and use the reporting system effectively. Collect and share market insights on pricing, products, deliveries and merchandising.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field.
• Previous experience in the marketing of dermocosmetics products is a plus.
• At least three years of field sales experience in the healthcare industry, with strong skills in coaching and motivating sales teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage professionally with vendors and colleagues while resolving issues collaboratively..
