Breastfeeding Month: Nourishing Little Lives

Breast milk is often called liquid gold and for good reason. It’s not just food; it’s a living fluid that adapts to meet your baby’s needs. Packed with nutrients, antibodies and even good bacteria, it builds both health and connection.

Dr. Neema Lema, Consultant Paediatrician at ZOE Children’s Clinic, explains: “Your milk changes as your baby grows, providing the right mix of nutrition and protection at every stage.”

But here’s the scoop: some nutrients in breast milk, like vitamins A, C, D, B-complex and DHA, depend directly on what mom eats. That’s why supplements can make such a difference.

Dr. Lema highlights that during the postpartum period, a mother’s nutritional needs shoot up. “Your body is giving so much to your little one that your own reserves can run low,” she says. That’s where breastfeeding supplements come in.
